2009 DBG Plant Sale – Back to Basics

The Gardens’ Plant Sale kicks off this coming weekend just in time for your spring garden planning. The sale opens Friday, May 8th and runs through Saturday, May 9th. The sale opens each day at 10 a.m. Member-only shopping hours are 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day. There will be more than 85,000 plants to choose from at Denver’s biggest and best plant sale. Visitors can choose from 12 different plant divisions, offering a variety of plants that can be grown in the most extravagant gardens or no garden at all.
This year, we will take you back to basics – highlighting how to grow your own veggies, fruits, berries and herbs. Purchase locally grown vegetables and get tips on how to grow and eat from your own garden. Browse a wide selection of garden-grown and water-smart plants. Plus, choose from hundreds of varieties of herbs.
Our own horticulture staff, industry professionals and volunteers will be on-site to give advice about container planting and the must-haves for all types of gardens.
Visit botanicgardens.org for a detailed list of plants offered at the sale as well as a full event site map. See you there!

I think this is a great idea and a way to truly reach the public. I live in Oklahoma, but I’d love to come (if only I had a jet pack).~~Dee

If we could get you a jet pack, we would do it. It sounds like it may be more sustainable than other transportation methods!! Thanks, Dee in OK!
