2011 Wedding Trends: What’s Hot and What’s Not!
Posted January 3, 2011 by makonesk
We had a wonderful summer of weddings here at Denver Botanic Gardens. I am really looking forward to seeing some of the latest trends for weddings and receptions for 2011.
I’ve seen quite a few weddings now, and I think it’s fair to say we should all be on the same page as far as what’s hot and what’s not for weddings in 2011.
- Invitations
Hot: Going green with soy ink and recycled paper, and online ’save the date’ with your engagement photo
Not: Boring white invitations - The Colors
Hot: Red, yellow, teal and classic black and white
Not: Any color palette with brown - Dinners & Receptions
Hot: Sit down reception dinners, family style. Or provide more substantial hors d’oeuvres to pass around
Not: Buffet lines and light hors d’oeuvres stations - Wedding Cake
Hot: Cupcakes and candy stations
Not: Classic three-tiered cakes
By no means do your choices have reflect all the latest trends, but it’s nice to mix old traditions with new ones!
