For decades the United States has operated through large industries that provide our nation with almost everything in our lives. Some of the most prominent industries are the grocers that operate supermarkets across the country, which are full of enough food for everyone, in every neighborhood. While we are very fortunate to have access to such high volumes and varieties of food, the convenience of such a massive industry does not exist without consequences.

Denver Botanic Gardens will host its award-winning Wedding Showcase on Friday, Sept. 16, from
5-9 p.m. More than 50 wedding professionals will be available in locations throughout the Gardens. From wedding planning and formalwear to food, wine and floral design, the Gardens’ Wedding Showcase offers solutions to all types of wedding needs. In addition, there are great prize giveaways. Last year awards included three wedding sites and more than 30 gifts and prizes!
New this year: The wedding showcase has added two new features: ”The Man Lounge” and dance instruction. “The Man Lounge” will have video games, 50″ flat screen TVs and vendors featuring information on adventures like rock climbing. Dance instructors will be on hand to teach the latest salsa, tango and line-dancing moves.

Denver Botanic Gardens today officially bid farewell to one of its long-time employees, Joe Tomocik, curator of aquatic collections. After serving the Gardens for 31 years, mere words in this blog will not capture the essence of Joe’s service to the Gardens. A whole book on Joe would be more like it! The establishment and success of Denver Botanic Gardens’ aquatic program and collections can be attributed to Joe’s hard work and dedication.
