Mission Accomplished

The events team, led by Special Event Coordinator Allison Yentsch, arrived at Denver Botanic Gardens last Friday morning with a grand sense of accomplishment. In the previous months, we have been eating, sleeping, and breathing Birdhaus Bash. When event day finally rolled around, we felt eager and ready to get started with the set-up, bright and early at 6:00 a.m. Birdhaus Bash began to come to life later that afternoon as staff, volunteers and vendors placed tables, chairs, tents, linens, band equipment, food, and beverages. When the gates opened at 5:00 p.m. all seemed confident that our guests would highly enjoy their experience. As enthusiastic birdhouse buyers flooded into the gardens, they branched in several different directions to browse the birdhouses, listen to music, and to wine and dine in the beautiful, botanic atmosphere. I felt honored to be a part of Allison’s team as I watched this event in action.

When the last birdhouse was sold and attendees had had their fill of food and drink, the Gardens began to clear. Vendors packed up their delectables, and Gardens staff members, events team or non, pitched in to help us clean up under the Colorado moonlight. I got to experience Denver Botanic Gardens’ notion of teamwork once again. The events team, in the dark, walked the path back to our offices thinking…mission accomplished! Not only was the Birdhouse Bash a success, but thousands of dollars was raised for Youth Education Programs and Adult Tour Guide Programs. Thank you to all guests who attended. We hope that you had a wonderful experience with us. And thank you to all staff members, volunteers, and vendors who helped make this an unforgettable event!
